And as far as protection goes mountaib product does what it promises. It's not made for super hard impacts but trust me I've had plenty of spills in these and the have saved my skin every time.
If anr are even looking at this product and my review trust me don't search any farther just buy this now! These are hot to take mountain biking but offer great protection and comfort. I would wear shin pads with these if mountain biking because the bottoms rub on the shin with peddle strokes and this chafes the skin.
Only 2 left in stock - order soon. Really nice and light.
My last elbow pads were heavier and caused a lot of sweating and discomfort in the hot weather I ride in. These are much light and cooler.
My only observation is that the cloth part above and below the pad is too long. I find if I fold the top down about an inch it still kne it up and does not cover my arm as much.
I think they could shorten it a bit and still not slide down your arm.
Would make it nicer in the South in summer. I thought I didn't need knees pads or pads in general under I fell really hard on the first day at Mammoth and it sort of ruined the entire trip for me.
I love these pads because they protect your knees yet they're comfortable and very low profile. Like a lot of the other pads on this list, the Flow knee pads use a preformed shape and are ventilated on the back side to keep you cool while riding.
The RaceFace Flank leg guards are not like anything else on our list here. The pads are not the most pedal friendly but provide the highest level of protection.
With RaceFace implementing D3O impact protection, the Flank pads still remain flexible and feel light even though they offer a complete protection. These pads a still slim and low profile even though they cover both the knee and the shin. The Flank pads are great for those riders looking for ultimate protection and that is why they make it on Our Five Favorites List.
